So in my quarantine I played a terrible computer game, that wasn't even fun! It was like some kind of joke. A joke on nerds. Let's make the game play glitchy, the characters annoying and the sequel inferior to the expansion of the original.
Argh. But it was free. And it plays on my new computer. So I shouldn't complain too much. Except trying to kill lichs and elite vampires in bed has done a number on my back. I should have read a book.
I'm reading Pendennis but man does it suck. I'm getting almost nothing from it but I can't abandon it. A book pretty much has to feature filthy violence for no reason for me to put it down. Although I did abandon Cranford, which was near as I can tell is about country village parsimony. Parts of Judi Dench's performance made me cry in the miniseries however, she crushed it.
For some reason simon and I watched Elizabeth the golden age. Well the reason being Cate Blanchett. And I remarked that she doesn't seem very smart in interviews. Which was perhaps unfair, in the interviews I've seen her in she was just happy. It would be nice if she was witty and ironical and told excellent anecdotes but y'know, she's a genius as an actor and a peach. That's good enough.
So we watched the inside the actor's studio featuring her. She's very thoroughly trained and can talk about technique admirably. I love her oversized ears. Then I watched the Hugh Jackman one, my god. That man. I just like looking at him and listening to him. I really can't say I've loved him as anything other than Wolverine but wow. The boy from Oz clips they showed were impressive.
Then having listened to Simon's complaints about James Lipton I watched the Conan O'brien one. That shit was funny. He made a lot of fun of Lipton. Then the Ricky Gervais one. I'm not really a big fan of Ricky Gervais although I watched all of the office and extras. I did some fast forwarding in extras. I don't like his podcasts but he is good in interviews and at the emmys. He's really good at the emmys.
So... that's how I've been killing time, for the most part. It's confirmed for me that I don't like Jude Apatow, Jonah Hill and Seth Rogen as comedians or writers. Well Seth and Jonah's performances are okay as long as it isn't their own writing. It's just that they are leaking onto the simpsons and all kinds of comedy genres.
I liked the first two episodes of season 4 of 30 rock but not the third. I mean parts of it but not overall. I like the searching for a new cast member plot though.
My lungs feel kind of singed, I think I overdid it on the camphor.
